Will Congress Read Bills Before Voting?.....
Last month, when Republicans tried to stall energy legislation with hundreds of amendments, Democrats hired a speed reader to get through them all. Now, with Democratic leadership barreling through its hefty agenda this summer, it looks as if the speed reader's services may be needed once more. Various grassroots organizations are blasting Congress for not taking the time to properly consider the energy bill or health care reform -- two very significant pieces of legislation...Link

Iran empowers ‘butcher’ to interrogate.....
Saaed Mortazavi, an Iranian prosecutor who was responsible for ordering over 100 newspapers closed and dozens of bloggers and journalists arrested, tortured and in some cases, killed, has been empowered to interrogate Iran’s opposition leaders, according to published reports. Mortazavi’s frightful history has earned him two distinct nicknames: “Butcher of the press” and “torturer of Tehran.”...Link
Michael Jackson is Dead...........
Pop legend Michael Jackson has died, according to The Los Angeles Times. The paper, citing local fire department officials, reported Jackson was unconscious when paramedics arrived at his home in Holmby Hills before being taken to hospital. “Jackson had planned to hit the stage at the O2 Arena in London for 50 concerts this summer,” noted the Associated Press. “Tickets for the series, which kicks off on July 8, sold out in a matter of hours on March 13. By the time the shows end in February 2010, more than 1 million people will have seen Jackson perform. Jackson, 50, has been in the public eye for more than 40 years.”...Link
Farrah Fawcett DEAD at 62.................
(CNN) -- Farrah Fawcett, the blonde-maned actress whose best-selling poster and "Charlie's Angels" stardom made her one of the most famous faces in the world, died Thursday. She was 62. Fawcett's death was confirmed by Paul Bloch, one of her representatives at Rogers and Cowan, an entertainment public relations firm. Fawcett, who checked into a hospital in early April, had been battling anal cancer on and off for three years...Link
